Insurance differs from a claim
Protected funds use a special payment mechanism; the balance may become a creditor claim.
The loan survives
Payments continue to the receiver or under officially announced instructions.
Records must be reconciled
Statements, contracts and payment records matter when registers differ.
Four practical situations
| Your status | Main question | First action |
|---|---|---|
| Depositor | Whether the account and funds are insured | Check the bank card and payment process on the DIA website |
| Business account holder | Which part is protected and what enters the register | Verify owner status, statement and balance |
| Bank borrower | Who receives the next payment | Use only the receiver’s official instructions |
| Other creditor | Basis, amount and priority of the claim | Prepare contract, primary evidence and calculation |
Workflow after licence revocation
Confirm official status
Find the Bank of Russia decision, insured-event date and temporary administration or receiver details.
Classify each position
Separate insured funds, a possible excess balance, contractual claims and debts owed to the bank.
Reconcile the calculation
Compare statements, interest, payments, currency and mutual obligations on the control date.
Submit the documents
Use the form, address and period published for that bank and retain delivery evidence.
Documents
- passport or company documents and representative authority;
- deposit, account, loan or other principal agreement;
- statements and payment orders on the control date;
- bank correspondence and prior applications;
- itemised claim calculation;
- DIA or receiver response where figures differ.
FAQ
Is every account balance insured?
No. Law No. 177-FZ defines protected categories and exclusions. Current conditions and limits must be checked on the insured-event date.
What happens to the excess balance?
It may be filed as a claim against the bank under the special statutory procedure and priority.
Can a borrower stop paying?
No. Licence revocation does not end the debt. Confirm official payment details and keep evidence.
What if the amount is wrong?
Submit supporting records and objections through the DIA or receiver process; unresolved disputes follow the statutory procedure.
