AFTER COMPLETION · FIRST ACTIONSAfter Russian personal bankruptcy ends, first obtain the full court order or MFC completion record and identify which liabilities were actually discharged. Then restore account access, review enforcement cases, preserve the evidence file and disclose the bankruptcy when taking new credit or loans during the statutory five-year period. External systems do not necessarily update the next day.

Read the final order

The operative part determines discharge and surviving claims.

Keep evidence

Court, EFRSB and settlement records may be needed by banks and bailiffs.

Check restrictions

Accounts and enforcement databases may update later.

Disclose bankruptcy

For five years, new credit or loan obligations require disclosure.

Seven actions after completion

Obtain the full final record

Use the commercial-court order for judicial bankruptcy or the MFC completion entry.

Read the discharge ruling

Identify whether discharge applies and which claims survive.

Create a permanent file

Save the orders, EFRSB notices, register and settlement evidence.

Contact banks

Check account and card status and provide the final order where an internal restriction remains.

Review bailiff cases

Match each enforcement case to the type of debt; surviving claims follow a different route.

Challenge only inaccuracies

A credit history is not erased on request, but inaccurate reporting may be disputed under the statutory procedure.

Observe continuing limits

Disclose bankruptcy and separately review management-role restrictions.

Legal completion and database updates are different events. Do not take new borrowing or dispose of a disputed asset until the final order and any remaining restrictions have been checked.

Which debts may remain

CategoryGeneral treatmentCheck
Ordinary insolvency claimsMay be covered by dischargeOperative part and Article 213.28(4)
Current paymentsUnpaid balance survivesAccrual date and payments made
Maintenance, life or health injury and moral harmSurvive within the statutory scopeEnforcement title and balance
Claim unknown to the creditorMay fall outside dischargeWhat the creditor knew at completion
Separate housing settlementContinues under approved termsCourt order and payment schedule

Article 213.28 both grants discharge for many claims and lists situations in which discharge does not apply. A collection letter, credit report or bailiff entry must therefore be compared with the final order and the legal nature of the claim.

Card access and enforcement

Once asset realisation ends, the individual’s disposal powers return, but a bank may still require the published order or complete an internal review. A separate freeze, security interest or surviving enforcement title is not cancelled merely by producing the completion order.

Review every enforcement case by claimant and legal basis. See the guides to restoring card access and enforcement proceedings.

Choose the closest situation; always verify the final record.

Start with the full final record and its date.

Continuing restrictions

Article 213.30 requires disclosure of bankruptcy when taking obligations under a credit agreement or loan agreement for five years. During the same period, a new judicial case cannot be opened on the individual’s own petition. Separate time limits apply to management of legal entities, with longer special restrictions for banks and certain financial organisations.

Ordinary employment, ownership of personal property and government services are not generally prohibited. A regulated profession, licence or office must be assessed under its special law.

Frequently asked questions

When may I use a normal bank card?

After disposal powers return, but confirm actual unblocking and the absence of other freezes with the bank.

Will all bailiff cases disappear automatically?

No. The result depends on the claim, final order and the bailiff’s action in each case.

Is there one universal debt-discharge certificate?

Russian law does not prescribe one certificate for every recipient. The key record is the final court order or MFC completion entry.

May I apply for credit immediately?

There is no general application ban, but bankruptcy must be disclosed for five years and the lender decides.

May I file again?

Different five-year rules apply to the individual’s own judicial filing and a repeat MFC filing.
