In a Russian tailor shop bankruptcy, customer clothing, fabric, accessories and custom workpieces do not become debtor property merely because they remain in the workshop: identify them precisely, record completion stage and arrange handover. A tailor may hold repair items, customer material, its own fabric, work in progress and finished garments at the same time. Receipts, measurements, sketches, photographs and fitting history help separate them.

Identify the Item and Order
Match order number, receipt, photographs, description, measurements, sketch and correspondence. For alterations, record the original defect and agreed work. For tailoring, record design, dimensions, material, accessories and deadline. A generic “dress” description is insufficient during inventory.
Fabric, Accessories and Workpieces
Separate customer material through the handover record, receipt, photographs and remainder. Tailor-owned material may enter the debtor estate. Link cut pieces, lining and accessories to the specific order; another tailor’s ability to continue requires a separate technical assessment.
Unfinished Tailoring and Fittings
Do not state completion as an unexplained percentage. Record cutting, basting, fitting, shape, assembly, finishing and defects. Transfer unfinished work with a list of pieces, materials, patterns and condition, without promising another provider will accept it.
Advance, Work Value and Correction
Compare contract price, advance, customer material and operations actually completed. Support continuation or correction costs through another provider’s inspection and estimate. A full advance refund cannot be assumed without accounting for useful work and defects.

Equipment and Safe Handover
Sewing machines, overlockers, pressing and cutting equipment, mannequins and workshop stock are separate from customer property. On closure, preserve order labels and organise handover first. Do not enter or remove items without authority; arrange delivery with the authorised person.
