SOUT in Russia: Employer Duties and Documents

RUSSIAN LAW · PRACTICAL GUIDE

Connect the assessment to follow-up actions

A special assessment of working conditions, known as SOUT in Russia, follows a statutory procedure and affects occupational safety, employee entitlements and the actions required after assessment.

Employer responsibilities

The employer arranges the assessment, supplies information about workplaces, acquaints employees with the results and implements measures to improve working conditions in light of those results.

Practical sequence

  1. Identify the workplaces and grounds for assessment.
  2. Select an organisation that meets the legal requirements.
  3. Prepare information and documents.
  4. Approve the report and take the required follow-up actions.
  5. Check the obligation to publish results on the employer’s website.

Timing and specific requirements depend on the circumstances and applicable law. An old year-end reminder does not replace a review of the actual workplace.
